1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions ("Agreement"):

• "Lyric Auto," "we," "us," or "our" refers to Lyric Auto, a car rental service operating in Taipei, Taiwan
• "Renter," "you," or "your" refers to the individual or entity entering into this rental agreement
• "Vehicle" refers to the car rented under this agreement, including all equipment and accessories
• "Rental Period" refers to the time between vehicle delivery and collection as specified in the rental agreement
• "Service" refers to our luxury car rental services in Taiwan

2. Acceptance of Terms

By reserving or renting a vehicle from Lyric Auto, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. This Agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between you and Lyric Auto.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not proceed with the rental. Your reservation and subsequent rental of a vehicle signifies your acceptance of this Agreement.

3. Rental Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Lyric Auto, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be at least 25 years of age
• Hold a valid driver's license issued by your country of residence for at least 2 years
• For international drivers, present a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your national license
• Provide a valid passport or national identification
• Possess a credit card in your own name for security deposit purposes
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract

We reserve the right to verify these credentials and decline rental if requirements are not met or if documentation appears invalid.

4. Reservation and Payment

4.1 Reservation Process

Reservations can be made through our website, by email, or by phone. All reservations are subject to vehicle availability. A reservation confirmation will be sent to your provided email address.

4.2 Payment Terms

• Payment is required in New Taiwan Dollars (NT$)
• A security deposit will be authorized on your credit card at the time of vehicle delivery
• The security deposit amount varies by vehicle type and rental duration
• Rental fees are charged at the beginning of the rental period
• The security deposit will be released within 14 business days after vehicle return, subject to inspection

4.3 Pricing

All quoted prices include comprehensive insurance, GPS navigation, and delivery/collection within Taipei city limits. Additional charges may apply for deliveries outside Taipei, extended rental periods, or optional services.

5. Rental Period and Extensions

The rental period begins when the vehicle is delivered to you and ends when we collect the vehicle or at the agreed return time. Extensions must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time and are subject to availability.

Unauthorized late returns may result in additional charges at a rate of 20% of the daily rental fee per hour, up to a maximum of double the daily rate.

6. Vehicle Use and Restrictions

6.1 Permitted Use

The vehicle may only be used for personal transportation on paved roads in Taiwan. You agree to:

• Operate the vehicle in accordance with Taiwan traffic laws and regulations
• Use the vehicle only for lawful purposes
• Maintain the vehicle in good condition during the rental period
• Return the vehicle in the same condition as received, subject to normal wear and tear

6.2 Prohibited Activities

You must not:

• Allow anyone other than the named driver(s) on the rental agreement to operate the vehicle
• Drive the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances
• Use the vehicle for commercial purposes, including ride-sharing or delivery services
• Take the vehicle off-road or on unpaved surfaces
• Transport hazardous materials or illegal goods
• Modify or alter the vehicle in any way
• Smoke in the vehicle
• Transport more passengers than the vehicle's seating capacity
• Participate in races, competitions, or driving tests

7. Insurance and Liability

7.1 Insurance Coverage

All rental packages include comprehensive insurance with collision damage waiver and third-party liability protection. This coverage is subject to the following conditions:

• The driver must comply with all terms of this Agreement
• Damage must be reported to us immediately upon occurrence
• Police reports are required for all accidents involving third parties
• Coverage is void if the vehicle is used in violation of this Agreement

7.2 Renter Responsibility

Despite insurance coverage, you remain responsible for:

• Traffic violations, parking fines, and toll charges incurred during the rental period
• Damage to the interior of the vehicle, including upholstery and accessories
• Loss or damage to keys, GPS equipment, or other provided items
• Damage resulting from prohibited use or violation of this Agreement
• Administrative fees related to traffic violations or damage claims

8. Fuel Policy

Vehicles are delivered with a full tank of fuel. You are responsible for refueling the vehicle before return. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than provided, a refueling charge will apply, calculated at 150% of local fuel prices plus a service fee.

9. Damage and Accidents

In the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle, you must:

• Contact Lyric Auto immediately, regardless of time of day
• File a police report if the accident involves another party or significant damage
• Complete our incident report form within 24 hours
• Provide all requested documentation and cooperate with insurance investigations
• Not admit fault or liability at the scene

Failure to report accidents or damage promptly may result in denial of insurance coverage and full liability for all costs.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

10.1 Cancellation by Renter

• Cancellations made more than 48 hours before rental start: Full refund
• Cancellations made 24-48 hours before rental start: 50% refund
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before rental start: No refund
• No-shows result in forfeiture of all fees

10.2 Cancellation by Lyric Auto

We reserve the right to cancel a reservation due to vehicle unavailability, maintenance issues, or safety concerns. In such cases, we will offer an alternative vehicle of similar or higher class, or provide a full refund. Our liability is limited to the refund amount; we are not responsible for any consequential damages or travel disruptions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Taiwan law:

• Lyric Auto is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the rental
• We are not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle
• We do not guarantee specific vehicle models; comparable alternatives may be provided
• We are not liable for delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement and repossess the vehicle without notice if:

• You violate any terms of this Agreement
• The vehicle is used for illegal purposes
• You provide false information during reservation or rental
• Payment authorization is declined or reversed
• The vehicle is abandoned or improperly parked for extended periods

Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations or liability for damage. All fees and charges remain payable.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By entering into this Agreement, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Taiwan. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Taipei, Taiwan.

14.2 Informal Resolution

Before pursuing formal legal action, we encourage you to contact us to resolve disputes informally. Most concerns can be addressed through direct communication with our customer service team.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Lyric Auto regarding your rental.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15.3 Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under this Agreement without our written consent.

16. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Modifications apply to rentals made after the update date. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
